Job Title: Specialist Family Violence Advocate, Case Management

Employment Type:

  • 12 month, fixed term contract

Hours: 38 hours per week

Description: The Case Management team provides short to medium term support to women and their children through developing individual case plans, making referrals to and liaising with other support services, advocating for and empowering women to make informed decisions about their life and future and those of their children.

As a Specialist Family Violence Advocate, you will listen to the woman’s story and ask questions to better understand their risk. You will address gender and power issues underlying domestic violence on both personal and social levels including accountability of perpetrators. You will provide high quality risk assessment and safety planning with women and children, and ensure accurate client case notes/records and data collection. In partnership with the woman you will identify, assess, develop and implement effective interventions and referrals to other helpful services for them and, where relevant, their families.

Job Title: Advanced Family Violence Practice Leader – Orange Door

Employment Type:

Are you:

  • A high performing specialist family violence practitioner with extensive experience working with highly sensitive and complex family violence cases?
  • Experienced in supporting and developing multi-disciplinary practitioners to work effectively with victim survivors including children, and perpetrators?
  • Passionate about service reform, integrated service delivery and improving outcomes for women, children and families?
  • A team player, with strong experience managing stakeholder relationships and working in partnership?

The Advanced Family Violence Practice Leader is responsible for providing practice leadership on risk assessment, risk management and planning for family violence and providing expert advice to the Orange Door workforce in relation to complex family violence cases and perpetrator interventions. The Advanced Family Violence Practice Leader will proactively build specialist evidence-based family violence knowledge and capability across the Orange Door workforce in line with the Orange Door Service Model and Integrated Practice Framework.

Volunteer with us

Volunteers significantly help EDVOS to deliver much-needed services. If you or someone you know has spare time, why not consider volunteering?

We welcome help with a range of tasks including database maintenance, data entry, reception and general administration. Or, you could help to organise our enormous stock of donated toys! There’s also an opportunity to help out with our client intake processes.

All roles will be well-supervised and volunteers will receive appropriate training. If you share our values and believe in the right of women and children to live free of violence, we encourage you to contact us.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to connect with the local community and your help will provide invaluable support to women and children in need.

Become a member

We welcome women that live, work or study in the eastern metropolitan region to become an EDVOS member. Active participation contributes directly EDVOS’ work for women and children in the eastern metropolitan region.

Membership entitles women to participate in General Meetings and nominate for positions on the Board.

The Membership elects a Board of Governance at the Annual General Meeting. The Board governs EDVOS and appoints the Chief Executive Officer.

Membership is renewed annually. A copy of the EDVOS Constitution is available upon request/membership.
