Job Title: Specialist Family Violence Advocates (Universal Services Co-locations) x 2

Employment Type: Full Time, Fixed Term to 30th June 2019

Hours: Full time, 38 hours per week

Closing date: COB Monday 15th October 2018

Description: We are seeking two Specialist Family Violence Advocates (SFVA) to join our Case Management team on a fixed term, full time basis (38 hours per week) until 30 June 2019.

The Case Management team provides medium term support to women and their children responding to family violence through developing individual case plans, making referrals to and liaising with other support services, advocating for and empowering women to make informed decisions about their life and future and those of their children.

These positions are case management positions, which include initial assessment, as the co-located SFVA will often be the first point of contact with EDVOS for the person receiving services.

Job Title: Specialist Family Violence Advocate (Universal Services Co-locations- Youth)

Employment Type: Full Time, Fixed Term to 30th June 2019

Hours: Full time, 38 hours per week

Description: This position will focus on engaging and supporting young people aged 15-24, including (but not limited to) the LGBTIQA+ community. 

The role aligns with EDVOS’ diversity plan and is driven by the evidence produced in the Royal Commission into Family Violence, which clearly highlighted barriers that both young people and the LGBTIQA+ community may experience in obtaining services that are relevant and specifically meet the needs of this community.

This position will  be required to participate on a regular basis in the After Hours Program roster (based in the EDVOS office in Ringwood) from 11.54am to 8pm and may be required to undertake weekend work (Saturdays and Sundays on an occasional basis).

This position is a case management role which will split time between EDVOS offices in Ringwood and youth- focussed services including Headspace and Universities in the Eastern Metropolitan Region.

Job Title: Receptionist/Administration Officer

Employment Type: Casual

Hours: As Required

Closing date: COB Tuesday 16th October 2018

Description: Reporting to the Team Leader, Administration and Reception this position sits within our Corporate Services division and is responsible for the provision of efficient and effective administrative support to the EDVOS team.

This role will also be responsible for greeting visitors that arrive at reception as well as answering incoming phone calls and directing these to appropriate staff or taking messages where required, therefore ensuring that the reception function is carried out in a responsive and timely manner.

Job Title: Project Coordinator,  Primary Prevention

Employment Type: Part time or Full time, Fixed Term to 30th June 2019

Hours: 30.4- 38 hours per week

Closing date: COB Thursday 25th October 2018

Description: The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating projects, which will involve planning, implementing and evaluating activities to prevent violence against women, as well as, preparing submissions for funding bodies and other agencies within the Eastern Metropolitan Region.

One of the existing projects the Project Coordinator will be responsible for is ‘Thriving in the Valley’ place-based projects in Upper Yarra. Project Coordinator will work with current partners and local community members to deliver programs and services to the community that include primary prevention, early intervention and response to family violence. Using co-design principles, the Project Coordinator will proactively refer to active input by the people who use current local services as well as those who have traditionally provided them.

There will be a strong focus on maintaining working relationships, as well as community engagement and participation.

In collaboration with the Program Manager of Primary Prevention, the Project Coordinator will also be responsible for supporting primary prevention activities across the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR).

Volunteer with us

Volunteers significantly help EDVOS to deliver much-needed services. If you or someone you know has spare time, why not consider volunteering?

We welcome help with a range of tasks including database maintenance, data entry, reception and general administration. Or, you could help to organise our enormous stock of donated toys! There’s also an opportunity to help out with our client intake processes.

All roles will be well-supervised and volunteers will receive appropriate training. If you share our values and believe in the right of women and children to live free of violence, we encourage you to contact us.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to connect with the local community and your help will provide invaluable support to women and children in need.

Become a member

We welcome women that live, work or study in the eastern metropolitan region to become an EDVOS member. Active participation contributes directly EDVOS’ work for women and children in the eastern metropolitan region.

Membership entitles women to participate in General Meetings and nominate for positions on the Board.

The Membership elects a Board of Governance at the Annual General Meeting. The Board governs EDVOS and appoints the Chief Executive Officer.

Membership is renewed annually. A copy of the EDVOS Constitution is available upon request/membership.
