Job Title: Specialist Family Violence Advocate

Employment Type: Fixed Term, Part Time to June 30th 2019

Hours: 30.4 hours per week

Closing date: 11.12.2018

Description: We are inviting applications from suitably qualified and dedicated professionals to join our Assessment and Response Team (Inner East). As a Specialist Family Violence Advocate, you will listen to the woman’s story and ask questions to better understand her risk. You will address gender and power issues underlying domestic violence on both personal and social levels including accountability of perpetrators, you will provide high quality risk assessment and safety planning with women and children, and ensure accurate client case notes/records and data collection. In partnership with the woman you will identify, assess, develop and implement effective interventions and referrals to other helpful services for them and, where relevant, their families.

Job Title: Finance Officer

Employment Type: Part-time, Fixed Term to June 30 2019

Hours: 30.4 hour per week

Closing date: Friday 14 December 2018

Description: The Finance Officer is responsible for the accounts payable and receivable functions, distribution of gift card vouchers under the “Flexible Support Package Program”, dealing with accounts related queries with a high level of customer service and may assist with payroll tasks and queries if required. Finance reporting functions and assistance with end of month/end of financial year processes and payroll (on a relief basis) form part of this role.

Job Title: Specialist Family Violence Advisor – Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs

Employment Type: Fixed Term to June 30th 2019

Hours: Full time (38 hours per week)

Closing date: COB Monday December 17th 2018

Description: We have an exciting new position available for a Specialist Family Violence Advisor in Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs for a fixed term period to 30 June 2019 on a full time basis (38 hours per week). This position is being recruited as a part of the recommendations 98 and 99 of the Royal Commission into Family Violence. EDVOS is proud to be participating in the Stage 1 of this program, which aims to promote the benefits of a catchment-wide understanding and collaborative response to family violence.

Volunteer with us

Volunteers significantly help EDVOS to deliver much-needed services. If you or someone you know has spare time, why not consider volunteering?

We welcome help with a range of tasks including database maintenance, data entry, reception and general administration. Or, you could help to organise our enormous stock of donated toys! There’s also an opportunity to help out with our client intake processes.

All roles will be well-supervised and volunteers will receive appropriate training. If you share our values and believe in the right of women and children to live free of violence, we encourage you to contact us.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to connect with the local community and your help will provide invaluable support to women and children in need.

Become a member

We welcome women that live, work or study in the eastern metropolitan region to become an EDVOS member. Active participation contributes directly EDVOS’ work for women and children in the eastern metropolitan region.

Membership entitles women to participate in General Meetings and nominate for positions on the Board.

The Membership elects a Board of Governance at the Annual General Meeting. The Board governs EDVOS and appoints the Chief Executive Officer.

Membership is renewed annually. A copy of the EDVOS Constitution is available upon request/membership.

We provide a broad range of integrated services to support women and children who are responding to family violence.

We prioritise the safety of women and children as a fundamental human right whilst working to ensure perpetrators are held accountable for using violence.
