Job Title: Specialist Family Violence Advocate – Assessment and Response Team (Outer East) (2 positions available)

Employment Type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 30th June 2019

HoursFull Time (38 hours per week)

Description:  We have two Specialist Family Violence Advocate roles available in the Assessment and Response Team (Outer East) on a fixed term, full time basis until 30th June 2019. The Assessment and Response team is responsible for the initial intake function within EDVOS. As a Specialist Family Violence Advocate you will address gender and power issues underlying domestic violence on both personal and social levels including accountability of perpetrators, provide high quality risk assessment and safety planning with women and children and ensure accurate and confidential client case notes/records and data collection.

Position description

Job Title: Principal Strategic Advisor

Employment Type: Part-Time, Ongoing

HoursPart time 30.4 hours per week

Description: The Principal Strategic Advisor (PSA) to the RFVP is a key leadership role within the whole of Government family violence system reform, and will be informed through both the regional experience and statewide participation. This role is instrumental in the further development of the integrated service system and implementation of the RCFV recommendations. The PSA focus is on integration, collaboration and consistency both within the region and more broadly across the state. This is an ongoing, part time role (30.4 hours/week).

Volunteer with us

Volunteers significantly help EDVOS to deliver much-needed services. If you or someone you know has spare time, why not consider volunteering?

We welcome help with a range of tasks including database maintenance, data entry, reception and general administration. Or, you could help to organise our enormous stock of donated toys! There’s also an opportunity to help out with our client intake processes.

All roles will be well-supervised and volunteers will receive appropriate training. If you share our values and believe in the right of women and children to live free of violence, we encourage you to contact us.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to connect with the local community and your help will provide invaluable support to women and children in need.

Become a member

We welcome women that live, work or study in the eastern metropolitan region to become an EDVOS member. Active participation contributes directly EDVOS’ work for women and children in the eastern metropolitan region.

Membership entitles women to participate in General Meetings and nominate for positions on the Board.

The Membership elects a Board of Governance at the Annual General Meeting. The Board governs EDVOS and appoints the Chief Executive Officer.

Membership is renewed annually. A copy of the EDVOS Constitution is available upon request/membership.

EDVOS is the specialist family violence service in Melbourne's Eastern Region.

We provide a broad range of integrated services to support women and children who are responding to family violence.

We prioritise the safety of women and children as a fundamental human right whilst working to ensure perpetrators are held accountable for using violence.
